A Beginner’s Guide to Happiness

“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.”
― Abraham Lincoln

Did you know its easier for our brain to think of negative scenarios rather than positive ones? Have you ever noticed that a bad memory lasts longer than a good memory? Unfortunately its a habit many of us have formed over the years and the majority of the time we have no awareness that we’re doing it. If we shifted the energy we used in worry, stress, or anxiety to positivity, calm and gratitude we would notice a significant change in every part of our life.
There are so many different ways that we can start changing our thinking patterns but today I want to keep it VERY simple.

  • I challenge everyone to take pen to paper (a4) and write as many things that brings a smile to your face or that you’re grateful for until your piece of paper is full.
  • When you’re finished take time to soak up your list and bring awareness to how all of things make you feel.
  • Keep your list somewhere that you’ll see it everyday and start forming a habit of reminding yourself of all the good in life not the bad.

Here is mine for a little bit of inspiration

Thanks for reading and make sure you share your smile with the world today ☮
