I started my blog in 2017 to vent my thoughts and share my journey to become my best self. I achieved a healthy audience and was receiving positive feedback however blogging alone just didn’t seem to fill a void of purposeless in my life. At 27 years old I still had no idea what I wanted to be when I grew up and this played on my mind constantly.
One thing I was certain of was that I wanted to help people but there was nothing in the medical/health industry that I felt truly comfortable pursuing. Back then I was a store manager of a telecommunications retail store and my favourite part of the job was motivating my team and creating a positive environment for both staff and customers. Another joy of mine was (and still is) reading motivational books and watching inspiring TED talks, I have always believed that words have the power to change the world.
Quite often I wished someone would tell me what to do and I went back and forth career options, but nothing felt right until I stumbled across life coaching. I was intrigued and after reading the below paragraph I knew I had finally found my calling.
“Life Coaching is a profession that is profoundly different from consulting, mentoring, advice, therapy, or counselling. The coaching process addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client’s personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is going on right now, discovering what your obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be.”
I immediately enrolled into a life coaching course with a reputable company as I want to have all the skills and qualifications necessary to be the best coach in the industry. While I study, I am going to continue blogging and building my brand “Grounding Growth” and hope to practice my coaching skills along the way.
